The president of Association of Recognized IOC International Sports Federation (ARISF) Jan Fransoo has met with heads of Russian Olympic committee (ROC) and Multisport Association of Russia (MAR). Questions of a recognition and cooperation ROC with federations of recognized by IOC sports which have been not included in the program of Olympic Games have been discussed.

Right after the University World Cup, in which Russia won the first prize, the team of Oryol Technical University became the winner in European University Championship. In the final match Oryol students defeated the team of Gent University (Belgium) by 5:3. The third prize went to the team of Utrecht University (Holland). The Dutch gained a stunning victory over the team of Istanbul (Turkey). The score of the match was 15:2. Russian player Alexander Podrezov was admitted the best player.

At the University World Cup in Rotterdam (Netherlands) Russian team “Oryol-STU” has won the first place. The coach of this team is Nikolay Podrezov (the vice-president of Russian Korfball Federation and the chief coach of the national team). On the first day of the championship our team fell within Group “A”. Russian team won the match with Spain by score 12:4. In the match with Germany the score was 18:13 to Russia. The only match that our team lost was the one with Holland (10:11). In playoff Russia had a match with Belgium, in which our team defeated Belgian one by 15:12.[ More... ]

Young Oryol korfball players will take part in three age groups (11-12-, 13-14-, 15-16- year-olds) of the international tournament which will take place in the Dutch town Leeuwarden in the period from 12 to 17 June. Leeuwarden is a partner town of Oryol, and it was this very tournament where the Russian made their first steps on the international scene. Besides the tournament in which more than 50 teams are expected to take part, Oryol sportsmen will play with the teams of Leeuwarden in the contest for the Cup of the Tuttel family which acquainted young Oryol citizens with korfball fundamentals thirteen years ago.

The staff of Russian korfball student national team which will take part in the National Student Teams World Cup, has been defined. Last year the Russian gained the convincing victory at the competition having left the team of Belgium beyond the three of the prize-winners. The Dutch had to compete only for the bronze because Russian korfball players had won a victory over them in semifinal. The competitions will take place in Rotterdam in the period from 24 to 25 June.
